Membership subscription income is the principal, if not the only source of income for Trade Associations. Yet the work Trade Associations do to support their members is vast and vital: advice, consultancy, lobbying government and other influential bodies, training and much more.

Tracking member details, subscriptions and renewals is crucial in maintaining the communications channels that will ensure Trade Associations give value and assistance where it is most needed.

3Si has worked with over 60 Trade Associations, offering solutions and services to meet the many and varied needs of associations across the spectrum of British Industry.

Two of those associations, the National Farming Union of Scotland (NFUS) and the British Printing Industry Federation (BPIF) are featured here.

Winner of Trade Association of the year 2003; BPIF attributes part of its success to 3Si membership management solution.

BPIF was managing membership in-house, but was using an obsolete system and staff were unable to access up-to-date member information. BPIF is managed across six geographically distinct business centres which added to the problem. 3Si’s work with BPIF improved performance dramatically, to the extent that they were named Trade Association of the year 2003.
